We don’t have a sensible, robust national energy policy. What we have right now a patchwork quilt of one-off laws and overreaching regulation. The consequence will be continued pressure on employment levels and rising energy prices that will burden our people, our businesses, and our industries.

Biography

President and CEO of Southern Company Services, which provides administrative and operational services to all of Southern Company operating divisions.

Serves on the Edison Foundation’s Institute for Electric Efficiency Strategy Committee, the National Center for Energy Workforce Development board, and is a member of the Committee of 200, a national businesswomen’s leadership organization.

Inducted into the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame in 2010 and was recognized as the 2010 Woman of the Year by the Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle.

Previously on the board of the James Madison Institute, she says she believes in the institute’s espousal of free markets and personal responsibility.

Holds an industrial engineering degree from Auburn University where she was recognized with the Distinguished Auburn Engineer Award and the Outstanding Engineering Alumnus Award.
